how do you know the answer? I mean when you are praying for guidance and help with a decision, how do you know that you are hearing God's answer or just what YOU want to hear? I have to make a decision, but I need help. I need God's help.

I think I know what to do, but am I thinking with emotion only? Does it make sense to take this road or am I just to pigheaded to hear anything else, but my own needs?

I don't think there is a right or wrong way to prayer, as long as you are speaking honestly to God. How do you hear the answers? or advice? or suggestions? or path to follow?

Any and all opinions matter, please leave me yours.

What I would do is have someone pray with you. Maybe they will get the confirmation for you? I pray that you get the guidance that you need. I have had the same exact questions as you lately.

Here is what I think:

The Bible says that if you delight yourself in the Lord he will give you the desires of your heart.

I too have struggled with this. Not knowing if the future is see is one of my own desire or of God's.

But then I got to thinking...If you are walking with God. You are in constant communication with him. I believe that the desires of your heart will be the desires that he puts there. I also believe that he will open the door for what he wants to accomplish.

I have a peace that his will, will be done no matter what. That even if I make the wrong decision eventually he will bring me back.

I hope this helps.

I used to think there was one way to pray, but I don't think that anymore. I'll pray while I'm on a walk, or in the shower, with eyes open, eyes closed, down on my knees, sitting, standing or lying down.

I sometimes try to write prayers down - that way I can look back later and see if they were answered outright or in ways I didn't expect (like my praying for my college boyfriend relationship and it didn't last, but that was still answered prayer).

I don't really have answers on hearing answers, advice or suggestions. Sometimes I feel something is right, but then its not. Sometimes I get angry because I think God isn't listening to me.

But over and over I just pray that I can submit myself to God and walk towards him no matter what the outcome of any situation. In reality, that's all I can do.

My 2 cents. ~~HUGS~~
